Teaching
I have been a teaching assistant in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Oklahoma since 2024.
ISE 4804 – Ergonomics in Systems Design
Lab instructor · Spring 2025, Spring 2026
I teach the weekly lab sessions for this course. Students work in teams of three or four and write a technical report or executive summary for each lab.
Lab design. I worked with the course instructor to plan and update the labs. The lab topics include:
- How to write a good technical report
- Evaluating the usability of a website (procedural and hierarchical task analysis)
- Redesigning a pickup truck driver’s workspace (structural anthropometry)
- Risk assessment for manual lifting tasks (NIOSH lifting equation and Snook tables)
- Evaluating and redesigning a drone control interface (KLM-GOMS and cognitive walkthrough)
Generative AI in the labs. In Spring 2026 we added generative AI to the labs. The goal is to help students use AI well, not to let it do the work for them. I helped draft the plan:
- Each lab focuses on one type of AI use. Examples are literature search, task planning, proofreading, and building a quick interface mock-up.
- Students submit the prompts they used. They also write a short review of the AI output: what helped, what was wrong, and what they changed.
ISE 4663/5663 – Systems Analysis Using Simulation
Teaching assistant · Fall 2025, Fall 2026
- Teach six computer lab sessions. The lab topics include:
- Calculating system performance measures by hand
- Building a basic simulation model in Arena (a fast-food service line)
- Comparing serial and parallel processes (a loan application case)
- Modeling an electronic assembly and test system, and estimating inventory storage costs
- Grade labs, mini-projects, and exams.
Data-Driven Decision Making II
Teaching assistant · Fall 2025
- Graded team project proposals and exams.
